These terms cover text messages about an enquiry you send through this site. They are separate from our Terms of Service and apply only to SMS.

What this programme is

When you send an enquiry through lauderdaleapartments.com you may tick a box beside your phone number asking us to text you as well as email you. If you tick it, we send you text messages about that enquiry: a confirmation that it reached us, and the owner’s replies to the conversation you started.

Text messages are an addition, never a replacement. We reply by email every time, whether or not you use SMS, and you can stop the texts at any moment without losing the email.

What you agree to at opt-in

The consent is a tick box you choose, never a default and never a condition of enquiring. This is its exact wording:

Lauderdale Apartments will text you about this enquiry and the owner’s replies, at the number above. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. See SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.

Leaving the box unticked changes nothing else about your enquiry: it is sent, read, and answered by email exactly the same way.

What we will and will not text you

We text you about the enquiry you sent and the conversation that follows it — confirmation that we received it, the owner’s replies, and answers to questions you ask us by text.

We do not send marketing or promotional text messages through this programme. We do not text a number that has not asked us to. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number with anyone for their own marketing, and we do not pass it to any third party except the messaging provider that carries the message for us.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies. It follows the conversation you are having with the owner: most enquiries involve a handful of messages over a few days, and some involve only the confirmation.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge you anything for these messages. Your mobile carrier may charge you for them according to your own plan.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message from us and we will stop texting you. UNSUBSCRIBE, END, QUIT, and CANCEL work the same way. You will receive one last message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and after that nothing further unless you opt in again.

Stopping the texts does not withdraw your enquiry and does not stop email: the owner will still reply to you by email.

Carriers

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your handset, and neither we nor your carrier can guarantee that any particular message arrives.

The number you give us

Give us a mobile number that is yours, or one you are authorised to use. If you stop using a number, tell us or reply STOP from it, so we do not go on texting somebody who never asked us to. Texting us is not a way to apply for an apartment or to reserve one: a tenancy begins only when a written lease is signed, as our Terms of Service explain.

Privacy

Your mobile number and the messages you exchange with us are handled under our Privacy Policy. We keep a record of when you opted in, what wording you were shown, and when you opted out, because that record is what lets us prove we only texted people who asked us to.

Changes

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially alters what we send you, we will ask you to opt in again rather than rely on the old consent.
